Recap: Antelope Titans vs. Elk Grove Thundering Herd
The Antelope Titans won the last time they faced the Elk Grove Thundering Herd, and things went their way on Friday too. Antelope took down Elk Grove 62-44. Given Antelope's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Elk Grove is ranked 682nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Antelope had a senior duo take command as Logan Melton scored 16 points along with six rebounds and Juleean Alias scored 12 points along with seven assists and three steals. Alias also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Daunte Martin was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Elk Grove lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Vinny Gonzales, who scored ten points. The contest was Gonzales' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Dennaoui, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
The victory got Antelope back to even at 3-3. As for Elk Grove, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
