Baseball Recap: South Lake Takes a Loss

South Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 11-7 to the Lake Minneola Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-6 on March 4th.

C Allen stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole a base. South Lake is 2-1 when Allen posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise. C Weaver was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

South Lake now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Lake Minneola, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

South Lake has already played their next match, a 10-0 victory against Colonial on the 28th. As for Lake Minneola, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-0 win against Leesburg on the 2nd.
