Basketball Game Preview: Knox County Eagles vs. Highland Cougars

Knox County is 2-8 against Highland since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Knox County Eagles will take on the Highland Cougars in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m.

Knox County came up short against Salisbury on Tuesday, falling 40-15. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Highland, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past Scotland County, posting a 65-30 victory. That looming 65-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Highland's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Knox County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Knox County was taken down by Highland 54-21 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Knox County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
