Basketball Game Preview: Stanton County Trojans vs. Eads Eagles

Stanton County is a perfect 3-0 against Eads since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will be taking part in a tournament against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m.

On Friday, Stanton County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 69-63 to Greeley County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (62), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, Stanton County got top-tier performance from David Crane, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Crane's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Gerardo Robles, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Eads gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 47-20 win over Hi-Plains. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won six in a row.

Stanton County strolled past Eads in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 50-34. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
