Softball Recap: Pine Plains Comes Up Short

Pine Plains had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 11-7 to make it four. They lost 7-0 to the Saugerties Sawyers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bombers have suffered since April 27th.

As for Saugerties, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

For Saugerties' part, the team relied heavily on Stefanie Cogswell, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave Cogswell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Stafford, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Pine Plains does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saugerties, they will square off against Beacon at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Sawyers surely won't give up without a fight.
