Preview: Crest Ridge Cougars vs. Wellington-Napoleon Tigers

The Crest Ridge Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Wellington-Napoleon Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Crest Ridge comes in on nine and Wellington-Napoleon on five.

Crest Ridge stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 69-29 win over Holden. Given Crest Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Holden is ranked 523rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Wellington-Napoleon was able to grind out a solid win over Lawson on Tuesday, taking the game 50-41.

Wellington-Napoleon's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Maddox Blystone, who scored 13 points, and Lucas Waterworth, who scored nine points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Haden Terrill, who scored eight points along with eight blocks and seven rebounds.

Crest Ridge pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Wellington-Napoleon, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

Things could have been worse for Crest Ridge, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-52 loss to Wellington-Napoleon when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Crest Ridge, Elijah Owens (who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
