Volleyball Recap: Norwich Free Academy Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woodstock Academy, Norwich Free Academy was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Griswold Wolverines by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Their offense was headlined by Petra Berry and Tiyana Taylor, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Savannah Guernsey and her 30 assists. Finally, Berry was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Despite the loss, Griswold still got an impressive performance from Carly Rubino, who had 26 digs and two aces. Rubino is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Norwich Free Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Griswold, they moved to 4-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Norwich Free Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Waterford on the 19th. As for Griswold, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Lyman Memorial on the 22nd.
