Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rising Sun). They blew past the Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers 75-39 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Rising Sun's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dj Williams, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 22 points and seven boards. Those 22 points gave Williams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Briar Johnson, who shot 5-for-8 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten rebounds.

Rising Sun was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

With the win, Rising Sun broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-18. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Shawe Memorial, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Rising Sun and Shawe Memorial are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Rising Sun will take on Oldenburg Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Shawe Memorial, they will challenge Hauser at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hauser has seven straight victories, Shawe Memorial has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
