Football Recap: Avalon's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Avalon and Flintridge Prep squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Avalon had to settle for second. They came up short against the Wolves, falling 39-13. The Lancers were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than 31 points in the four matchups prior), but the Wolves' defense proved too tough.

Flintridge Prep had a senior duo take command as Owen Willingham picked up 107 receiving yards and one touchdown and Asher Jones threw for 189 yards and a pair of TDs on only 18 passes. George Baghdassarian got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

With the defeat, Avalon broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3. As for Flintridge Prep, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
