Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vail Christian). They came out on top against the North Park Wildcats by a score of 55-45 on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Saints as they're now sitting on three straight.
Leading Vail Christian to victory were Susie Irving and Noelle Razee. Irving posted 22 points, while Razee had 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Irving has scored at least a third of Vail Christian's points.
Despite the loss, North Park still got an impressive performance from Paige Solano, who scored eight points in addition to ten boards and five steals. Solano is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Brooklynn Weber was another key player, putting up 14 points and five rebounds.
Vail Christian's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 5-9. As for North Park, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15.
Vail Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-12 loss against De Beque on the 20th. As for North Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-28 defeat against Saratoga on the 20th.
