Baseball Recap: Greenback Gets the Win

Greenback came out on top against Midway on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Cherokees walked away with a 6-3 win over the Green Wave. The Cherokees haven't had any issues with the Green Wave recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

JJ Caudill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Campbell, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Graves, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Greenback's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Midway, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-18-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Greenback nor Midway have any future games scheduled.
