Softball Recap: Houston Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Houston barely beat Mountain Grove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 7-1 victory on Thursday. Considering the Tigers have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lilly Kincaid spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Natalie Clinton, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Izzy Cook was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win was the fourth in a row for Houston, bringing their record up to 7-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.75 runs across that stretch. As for Mountain Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Coming up, Houston will challenge Warsaw at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mountain Grove, they will take on Plato at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
