Soccer Game Preview: Encinal vs. Arroyo

Encinal hasn't had much luck against Arroyo recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Encinal Jets are taking a road trip to face off against the Arroyo Dons at 3:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Encinal is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Friday. They fell 2-0 to San Lorenzo.

Meanwhile, Arroyo also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Moreau Catholic by a score of 4-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Dons came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Mariners are ranked 848th).

Arroyo's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-2. As for Encinal, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Encinal might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Arroyo in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Encinal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
