Volleyball Game Preview: Bolsa Grande Matadors vs. Magnolia Sentinels

The Bolsa Grande Matadors will take on the Magnolia Sentinels at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bolsa Grande will be strutting in after a win while Magnolia will be coming in after a loss.

While Bolsa Grande's victory against Santa Ana Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Matadors narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Falcons 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Matadors have posted since April 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, Magnolia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Santiago. While the Sentinels didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cavaliers 25-18 in the first set.

Magnolia started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 19-25, 29-27, 25-16, 17-15.

Bolsa Grande pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Magnolia, their loss dropped their record down to 8-20.
