Chester County fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Jackson South Side on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 5-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Dean Estes spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

Chester County's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Jackson South Side, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

While Chester County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
