Romeoville came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Joliet West, but Makayla J Chism wouldn't allow it. The Joliet West Tigers strolled past the Romeoville Spartans with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 70-54 thanks in part to J Chism, who posted 23 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Romeoville still got an impressive performance from Kazaria Smith, who had 42 points. That was a full 77.8% of Romeoville's points, marking the 27th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Joliet West's win bumped their record up to 5-21. As for Romeoville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Joliet West will venture away from home to square off against Plainfield East at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Joliet West has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Romeoville, they are taking a road trip to face off against Joliet Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
