Softball Recap: Lexington Victorious

Lexington came out on top against Wooster on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Minutemen walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Generals. The win continues a trend for the Minutemen in their matchups with the Generals: they've now won seven in a row.

Mariana Molton was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Molton was even better at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Quinn Patrick, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Lexington now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Wooster, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lexington will welcome Clear Fork at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wooster, they will host Orrville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
