Softball Recap: Thatcher Takes a Loss

Thatcher was the 11-10 winner over Safford when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly three runs.

Rylan Montoya made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaylee Hughes, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles.

This is the second loss in a row for Thatcher and nudges their season record down to 13-12. As for Safford, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-15.

As of now, neither Thatcher nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
