Soccer Recap: Celina Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Celina hasn't lost a match since January 3rd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Gainesville Leopards a 1-0 shutout. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Leopards are ranked 181st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Celina is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those seven contests. As for Gainesville, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Celina didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Pilot Point on the 7th. As for Gainesville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 9-0 victory against Bonham on the 7th.
