Volleyball Recap: Valley Takes a Loss

Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees. If the Lumberjacks were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Cee-Bees when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 27-29, 25-12, 25-10.

Clay-Battelle was led to victory by Sophia Sandone and Adelyn King. Sandone had 15 digs and five aces, while King had ten digs. Those ten digs gave King a new career-high.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Clay-Battelle, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Valley will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Clay-Battelle, they will challenge Cameron at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
