Basketball Recap: Lyon County Lyons vs. Henderson County Colonels
The Lyon County Lyons lost against the Henderson County Colonels back in February of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Lyon County was outmatched by the Colonels at home and fell 52-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lyon County has scored all season.
Henderson County was led to victory by Addy Gish and A'tylia Green. Gish scored 16 points, while Green dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gish has scored all season. Brooklyn Gibson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Lyon County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Henderson County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.
Lyon County will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Henderson County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Webster County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Colonels are ranked 31st).
