Waxahachie had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-16 victory over the Midway Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Jerry Meyer III threw for 64 yards and one touchdown. Da'Marion Cooper was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards. On the ground, Hector Calderon III rushed for 160 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.9 yards per carry.

Midway's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tyler Seith, who picked up 146 receiving yards and one TD, and Andrew McNair, who threw for 205 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Seith really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 71 yards. Lathan Whisenton handled things on the ground, rushing for 97 yards.

The win (which was Waxahachie's sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.7 points on average over those games. As for Midway, they moved to 9-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Waxahachie will face off against North Forney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Midway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
