Volleyball Recap: South Mecklenburg Has No Trouble Against Berry

The South Mecklenburg Sabres got the win against the Berry Cardinals on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sabres.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant South Mecklenburg was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-13, 25-12.

Phoenix Modie produced another solid performance getting 21 kills, 12 aces, eight digs, and six blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 18 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Remes, who had six digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: South Mecklenburg was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. They are 7-3 when they serve at least ten aces.

South Mecklenburg's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Berry, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-10.

As of now, neither South Mecklenburg nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
