Ellwood City is a perfect 8-0 against Quaker Valley since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wolverine will venture away from home to face off against the Quakers at 4:15 p.m. Quaker Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Ellwood City, who comes in off a win.
Ellwood City barely beat Avonworth the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverine put the hurt on the Antelopes with a sharp 11-2 win on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolverine considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Amber McQuistion spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.

At the plate, Alexis Beck was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Lena Lucarelli was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Ellwood City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Mohawk Area hit Quaker Valley with a four-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Quakers lost 13-2 to the Warriors. The Quakers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Quaker Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie DeGori, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Ellwood City has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Quaker Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
