Basketball Recap: East Side Drops Season-High Score on American History

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Side). They blew past the American History Eagles 87-42 on Thursday. The Red Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season.

Defeat or not, American History got some senior leadership from Ihjamir Williams and Ah'Mad Woodard. Williams posted eight points in addition to seven boards and five blocks, while Woodard put up 15 points. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 23 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ahmad Davis, who had four points along with five rebounds and three steals.

The victory (which was East Side's third in a row) raised their record to 13-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points over those games. As for American History, their loss dropped their record down to 19-8.

East Side and American History are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. East Side will challenge Westfield on Thursday. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. American History is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season.
