1A Tri-Peaks recap Nov. 7, 2012
Buena Vista extended the longest winning streak in 1A Tri-Peaks this week by beating Lyons, 50-0. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Demons.
Buena Vista took down the Lions 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Koby Close threw for 65 yards and ran for 171 yards in the win.
Colorado Springs Christian's dynamic duo of Dan Kenney and Jim Kenney proved tough for Burlington to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kenney threw for 103 yards and one touchdown and Kenney had 68 yards receiving. TJ Stockton helped Colorado Springs Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 18 yards.
Hayden Collins made the biggest impact on defense this week as Matt Flavin's team bested Lyons. The 5-foot-11 senior pulled down two interceptions.
John Mall's Brandon Bechaver and Michael Griego have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bechaver has thrown for 934 yards this season, while Griego has 21 catches for 476 yards. Kenney from the Lions leads the league in rushing with 1204 yards.
In 182 carries Tyler Lashley has accumulated 939 yard this year.
The Demons led the league in scoring this week after putting up 50 points on Brandon Wilkes' team. Close in the win.
