Asheboro is 8-2 against Central Davidson since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Blue Comets will look to defend their home pitch against the Spartans at 6:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Asheboro managed to slip by Oak Grove the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Comets came up short against the Grizzlies on Tuesday, falling 8-0. Asheboro's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Central Davidson unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. Neither they nor Lexington could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result kept Central Davidson happy, as they haven't lost a game since March 10th.

Their goal came courtesy of Kendra Ogle, who's now up to seven this season.

Central Davidson's draw makes their record 8-2-2 this season. As for Asheboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Asheboro took their win against Central Davidson in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0 score. Will the Blue Comets repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
