After a string of 13 wins, Hartsville's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 11-2 to the Gilbert Indians. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Red Foxes, who until this match were averaging 3.6 runs allowed.

Hartsville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Claire Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Hartsville's defeat dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Gilbert, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 25-4.
