Baseball Game Preview: Gateway Charter Griffins vs. Aubrey Rogers Patriots

The Gateway Charter Griffins are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will face off against the Aubrey Rogers Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gateway Charter will be strutting in after a victory while Aubrey Rogers will be coming in after a loss.

Gateway Charter is headed out to face Aubrey Rogers after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Gateway Charter came out on top in a nail-biter against Babcock on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-2.

Aidyn Jones looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Christopher Marrero was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Jakob Rivera was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Aubrey Rogers fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Estero on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Patriots couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jayden Bartlett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.

Gateway Charter came up short against Aubrey Rogers in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 7-2. Can Gateway Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
