Football Recap: Folsom Starts Season with Win Against Grant

Folsom had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 51-13 win over the Grant Pacers. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Pacers: they've now won four in a row.

Ryder Lyons was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 408 yards and four touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Folsom also got help from Jameson Powell, who showed off his sure hands for 100 receiving yards.

Folsom didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Grant to a completion percentage of just 31.2%. The team can thank Jason Hill Jr. for the heroic effort on defense: he. Folsom wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 84.6%.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Powell, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Folsom has already played their next match, a 56-42 win against Junipero Serra on the 30th. As for Grant, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 42-26 victory against Central East on the 29th.
