Preview: Christian Heritage Academy Knights vs. Ridgeview Christian Crusaders
Christian Heritage Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Ridgeview Christian Crusaders at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Christian Heritage Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-42, which was the final score in Christian Heritage Academy's tilt against Southwest Virginia Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Christian Heritage Academy has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Luke Mason, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Young, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Ridgeview Christian came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Temple Christian by a score of 58-47. 58 seems to be a good number for Ridgeview Christian as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Christian Heritage Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Ridgeview Christian, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Christian Heritage Academy suffered a grim 80-55 defeat to Ridgeview Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can Christian Heritage Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
