Baseball Recap: Avondale Comes Up Short

Athens hit Avondale with a five-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Yellowjackets lost 10-0 to the Red Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Yellowjackets have suffered since April 9th.

Avondale's loss dropped their record down to 6-4-1. As for Athens, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 16-4 record this season.

Avondale will face off against Ferndale at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Athens, they will take on Algonac at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
