Basketball Recap: Valley Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Valley had won two straight home games and Nevaeh Jimenez did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Valley Vikings walked away with a 37-30 win over the Wray Eagles thanks in part to Jimenez, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 20 boards. She has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last five times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Kendyll Mayhugh, who posted two points along with nine boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Despite the loss, Wray still got an impressive performance from Addison Jones, who scored 14 points in addition to eight steals and five rebounds. Danyelle Davis was another key player, putting up 12 points and five steals.

Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Wray's loss dropped their record down to 5-17.

Looking ahead, Valley will challenge Berthoud at 6:30 p.m. on March 7th. Berthoud is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season. Wray does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
