Baseball Recap: Creighton Prep Takes a Loss

Creighton Prep lost against Lincoln East back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Junior Jays took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans.

Easton Loucks was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Jack Cosgrove made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Charlie Ziola, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Creighton Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Lincoln East, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0.

Looking ahead, Creighton Prep will take on St. Louis University in a tournament on Friday. As for Lincoln East, they will welcome Kearney at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.5, the Bearcats 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
