Baseball Recap: Amboy Victorious

Amboy won against Polo on Thursday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Clippers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Orangeville Broncos, sneaking past 6-5. The Clippers haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Bryson Deery, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Quinn Leffelman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Amboy now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Orangeville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amboy will welcome Eastland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orangeville, they will host Durand/Pecatonica at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rivermen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.06 runs per game on average), something the Broncos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
