Basketball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends San Rafael's Winning Streak

After flying high against Healdsburg last Saturday, San Rafael came back down to earth. The San Rafael Bulldogs took a 64-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Piner Prospectors. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The defeat snapped San Rafael's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-3 record. As for Piner, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

San Rafael will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on De Anza at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. As for Piner, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Terra Linda at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Piner will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
