Orange Beach scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pelham Panthers. The Makos' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Orange Beach got a good showing from Logan Kruse, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kruse has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Cooper Sanders made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Joel Chandler, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Orange Beach lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Orange Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Pelham, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Orange Beach will head out on the road to challenge Parker at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pelham, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Calera at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pelham's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Calera's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
