Softball Recap: Gunn Takes a Loss

Gunn had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-11 to make it five. They lost 11-3 to the Sequoia Ravens. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ravens apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2015.

Tess Bogart was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

As for Sequoia, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-7. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.6 runs.

On Sequoia's side, the team relied heavily on Mehta Nisha, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-5. Those two home runs gave Nisha a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ocken Maren, who went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Gunn is taking a road trip to take on Burlingame at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Sequoia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Castilleja at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
