Basketball Recap: Ridgeview Falls Despite Big Games from Aaron Carr and Justyn Cappas + How To Watch

After flying high against Old Plank Christian Academy last Saturday, Ridgeview came back down to earth. The Panthers took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Temple Christian Academy Soldiers on Monday. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Soldiers 17-11 in the first quarter.

Justyn Cappas and Aaron Carr certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Cappas shot 50% from the field en route to 15 points and three steals, while Carr went 7-for-11 to rack up 15 points. Carr continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Stechschulte, who posted seven points and six boards.

Shaun Mcclam had a dynamite game For Temple Christian Academy., putting up 22 points. Another player making a difference was JaCere Green, who scored 14 points and five rebounds.

Ridgeview now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Temple Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Ridgeview won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Middleburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Temple Christian Academy, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Stanton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Soldiers will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 73.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
