Volleyball Recap: Prairie Central Victorious

Prairie Central saw some tournament action on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Beecher Bobcats 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Defeat or not, Beecher got some senior leadership from Elena Kvasnicka and Emily Avelar. Kvasnicka had 14 digs, 13 kills, and two blocks, while Avelar had 12 digs, seven kills, and two aces. Kvasnicka is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last 18 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Pattenaude, who had 13 assists and five digs.

Prairie Central's victory bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Beecher, the loss snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 17-13 record.

Prairie Central has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Bradley-Bourbonnais on the 18th. As for Beecher, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Joliet Central on the 18th.
