Basketball Game Preview: Clarksville Generals vs. Eastern Musketeers

The Clarksville Generals will square off against the Eastern Musketeers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastern took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Clarksville, who comes in off a win.

Clarksville will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 23 points on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Rock Creek Academy on Friday. Clarksville was the clear victors by a 64-39 margin over Rock Creek Academy. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Generals' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Jeremiah Freeman and Cordae Clay were among the main playmakers for Clarksville as the former posted ten points and four steals and the latter scored eight points and eight rebounds. Those four steals gave Freeman a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Eastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost an 83-81 heartbreaker at the hands of South Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Musketeers have suffered since January 17th.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Clarksville, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-16.

Clarksville couldn't quite finish off Eastern in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 82-79. Can Clarksville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
