Recap: Poudre Impalas vs. Broomfield Eagles
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 15 to 7 on the offensive boards, a fact the Poudre Impalas proved on Thursday. They pulled ahead with a 36-35 photo finish over Broomfield. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Poudre.
Poudre was led to victory by Kavi Voglund and Maggie Foster. Voglund scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, while Foster dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Foster scored 15 or more points.
Broomfield's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Deem, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals. Deem has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleigh Jones, who scored seven points.
Poudre has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Broomfield, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poudre will challenge Erie at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Broomfield, they will head out on the road to challenge Legacy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
