Volleyball Game Preview: Pocono Mountain West Panthers vs. Pleasant Valley Bears + How To Watch

Pocono Mountain West is 2-8 against Pleasant Valley since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Bears at 12:15 p.m.

On Tuesday, Pocono Mountain West didn't have quite enough to beat North Pocono and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley beat Pocono Mountain East 3-1 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won nine in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-21, 25-27, 25-19.

Pocono Mountain West better keep an eye on Kira Hnat. She was instrumental in Pleasant Valley's win, getting 11 digs, four aces, and two blocks. The dominant performance also gave Hnat a new career-high in assists (27). Another player making a difference was Emmerson DeLuna, who had 18 digs.

Pleasant Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive contests.

Pleasant Valley's record now sits at 13-11-3. As for Pocono Mountain West, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Pocono Mountain West was able to grind out a solid win over Pleasant Valley when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
