Recap: Highland Park Hornets vs. Boys Ranch Roughriders
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Panhandle, the Highland Park Hornets were happy to have found some success on Friday. They secured a 58-52 W over Boys Ranch. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Highland Park also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Boys Ranch still got an impressive performance from Bulo Tyrie, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tyrie has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Rex, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Highland Park's win bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Boys Ranch, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Highland Park will be playing in front of their home fans against Bovina at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bovina focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for Boys Ranch, they will head out on the road to face off against Vega at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Vega has three straight wins, Boys Ranch has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
