Basketball Recap: Dysart Skates Past Yuma with Ease

Dysart waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Yuma Criminals 69-41. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dysart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lamar Anderson, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points. Anderson has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Santiago Leyva, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds.

Dysart was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in three consecutive games.

Yuma's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Amador, who posted 22 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Andy Mosqueda, who scored eight points in addition to nine rebounds and three blocks.

Dysart is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Yuma, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Dysart wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-32 win against Coronado on the 22nd. As for Yuma, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 85-48 victory against Gila Ridge on the 17th.
