Preview: Peaster Greyhounds vs. Clyde Bulldogs
The Peaster Greyhounds will head out on the road to face off against the Clyde Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Peaster will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Last Friday, Peaster didn't have too much trouble with Boyd at home as they won 43-28.
Peaster can attribute much of their success to Lafe Bringman, who rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Cade McCollough did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and four extra points.
Meanwhile, Clyde put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put the hurt on Breckenridge with a sharp 34-14 win. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Clyde was the (much) better team in the second half.
Blake Carr was a one-man wrecking crew for Clyde as he rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns. Carr was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Kendrick Johnson was another key contributor, picking up 89 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Peaster to 4-6 and Clyde to 9-1.
