The recruiting battle for the nation's top junior football prospect is over before it ever really got started.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence of Cartersville (Ga.) committed to Clemson on Thursday night via Twitter. The 6-foot-5, 197-pound signal caller picked the Tigers over Georgia and Tennessee among others.
Lawrence threw for 3,708 yards and 49 touchdowns this fall, leading Cartersville to a 15-0 record and AAAA state title. He also ran for 250 yards and five touchdowns.

Cartersville also went 15-0 and won a state championship in 2015. The Hurricanes are 42-2 in three seasons with Lawrence under center.
