Baseball Recap: Poly Prep Country Day Wins High-Profile Contest Against Iona Prep

Poly Prep Country Day faced Iona Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Blue Devils' pitcher stepped up to hand the Gaels an 8-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Gaels: they've now won five in a row.

Miguel Sime Jr. tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mateo Noto was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
