Baseball Recap: Dickinson Drops Season-High Score on Lincoln

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dickinson). Everything went their way against the Lincoln Lions on Wednesday as they made off with an 18-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Dominick Fernanadez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run over five innings pitched. Fernanadez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, Dickinson got a massive performance out of Rayner Garcia, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Garcia is becoming a predictor of the Rams' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't). Jose Hernandez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Dickinson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Dickinson's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Lincoln, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Dickinson will venture away from home to challenge Weehawken at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln, they will welcome Snyder at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
