Basketball Recap: Webster County Victorious

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Webster County had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They snuck past the River View Raiders with a 42-37 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Highlanders.

Despite the defeat, River View saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chasity Kennedy posted 19 points and six boards. The matchup was Kennedy's eighth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Baleigh Auville, who had three points and three steals.

Webster County now has a winning record of 12-11. As for River View, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Webster County will be taking part in a tournament against Tug Valley at 1:00 p.m. on March 13th. Tug Valley will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something Webster County surely won't give up without a fight. River View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
